This is one of the largest resorts in the British Virgin Islands, rising above a private harbor in a compound of two-story concrete buildings scattered over 18 hectares (44 acres) of sloping, landscaped terrain. The panoramic view of Sir Francis Drake Channel from the bedrooms is one of the best anywhere, though there's no beach to speak of.

Prospect Reef Resort is located on a 11-acre oceanfront estate. The resort boasts 137 rooms and suites, a sea pool, a junior Olympic-sized freshwater pool, a marina, and a conference center.

Spacious layouts, each with private balcony or patio, provide festive island feeling to your stay on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

Light and airy decor, decorated in vibrant Caribbean colours with traditional gingerbread wood work. All rooms feature ceiling fans, and/or air-conditioning.

All rooms and suites are equipped with Satelite TV, clock radio, direct-dial telephone with voice mail, personal safe, coffee maker, mini-fridge, iron and ironing board. Maid service daily.

Chose from six different categories of room styles:

• Garden Rooms
Standard (Q or TT) bedroom on ground level with air conditioning, bath with tub and shower, sliding doors open to small garden seating area.

• Reef Rooms
Standard (K,Q or TT) bedroom on second floor with winding exterior staircase, ceiling fan, bath with tub and shower, private balcony with panoramic view of ocean and islands.

• Reef Studios
Studio suite on ground level with K, Q or QQ bed(s), bath with shower, dining table, ceiling fan, private patio with panoramic view of ocean and islands. Basic handicap accessibility.

• Admiral Studios
Duplex studio suite with living/dining area and bath with shower on ground level, loft with Queen bed, ceiling fan, private patio with panoramic view of ocean and islands.
Rooms with queen bed in loft have sofa in living room and no kitchen and are air conditioned.
Rooms with queen bed in loft and twin beds in living room are not air conditioned.

• 1 Bedroom Suites
Brand new, second level suites, with private balcony, allowing for complete panoramic view of the Caribbean sea and tropical gardens. Luxiously appointed separate bedroom, bath with shower and living room with ceiling fans.

• 2 Bedroom Villas
Duplex two-bedroom apartment home. Large living/dining room and sofa bed, ceiling fan, spacious private patio, full kitchen and interior dining courtyard, bath with tub and shower and air conditioned Queen bedroom with sliding doors to small garden seating area on ground level. Separate air-conditioned King bedroom and bath with tub and shower on second floor. Panoramic view of ocean and islands.

Cappricio di Mare
Located across from the ferry dock, this charming Italian sidewalk cafe offers fresh pastries and cappuccino for breakfast and a variety of pasta, pizza, and salads for lunch and dinner.

Pussers Bar & Restaurant
Located on Waterfront Road, this air-conditioned English pub has a harbour view and serves lunch and dinner. Pusser's menu includes burgers, meat pies, pizza, deli sandwiches, and Pusser's special rum drinks.

The Pub
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this seaside restaurant features West Indian specialties, burgers, and salads for lunch. The extensive dinner menu includes steak, ribs, lobster, fresh fish, and island cuisine.
