The reviews I read were awful. But we didn't have one bad experience the entire time. One thing I do have to note is you don't have access to all the bars, pools, or restaurants unless you buy a room upgrade for 50 dollars extra a night. We were not aware of this but I really didn't bother us b/c the pool we weren't allowed to go in didn't have the swim-up bar. I think we had such a good time b/c my husband (this was our honeymoon) is fluent in Spanish and we are both laid back and easy going. My advice is to treat everyone around you (mostly the staff) how you would want to be treated. If you act rude or disrespectful- the staff will give it right back. We gave dollar tips to the bartender and cleaning staff and went to the same bartenders over and over so they knew our faces. Our rooms were always sparkling clean b/c of the small tips and the cleaning women made us beautiful animals made out of towels everyday. The food at the two restaurants we were allowed to go in was fabulous. The restaurant that you had to make reservations was horrible. Overall we had a good time and I would recommend this hotel for people who like to have fun and aren't extremely picky or high maintance. |
