OVERVIEW
Sunset Fishermen Spa resort | Sunset Fishermen Spa Hotel | Sunset Fishermen Spa reviews
Isolated in Playacar, the Hotel/residential resort development on the southern boundary of Playa del Carmen, this pretty, 30-room Hotel offers guests a quiet sanctuary away from other Hotels within walking-distance access to the lively town center. In keeping with the Hotel's Mayan theme, guestrooms contain sculptures and provide simple, elegant, Mexi-Caribe decor. Plenty of marble and plenty of space ensure cool comfort. The Hotel occupies a secluded site with deserted-beach-walking available in either direction. Some low-key activities are available as well as a small fitness center, but sunny rest-and-relaxation is the theme here.
Graced by Mayan-inspired sculptures and artifacts, Fishermen's Village presents a pretty, unobtrusive, three-story profile along the beach. Its small, open-air lobby, breezy with ceiling fans, introduces guests to the Hotel's unpretentiousness. Nothing here is outsized, including a small, air-conditioned fitness room adjacent to an open-air massage tent. Activities are available, but they are low-key (Spanish and drinking-mixing lessons, beach walks, bicycle tours) in keeping with the Hotel's intent to be a haven of rest and relaxation. Children have their own activities, such as sandcastle building and painting. Like all major Mayan Riviera Hotels, Fishermen's Village is equipped with a water-purification system.
