1 ROUGH GUIDE TO VALLARTA

If you don't do any thing else on your holiday, do this. This is a must for all first time visitors to PVR. It is the only way to see everything in Vallarta in a day. We will take you on small coaches with your own guide on an insight to PVR and the surrounding areas, starting in the marina Vallarta, see the yachts and the lighthouse. Travel downtown to go on a walking guided tour of the church, the government buildings and the places of interest downtown. The guide will point out where the flea market is and Liz Taylor's house, you will not have time to visit these places as this is only to get you aquatinted to the resort for future visits during your stay. Travel south past Mismaloya beach and as the whole bay is surrounded by rain forest we will take you into the heart of the forest where a short guided walk is available and also lunch will be served. This is unlike any resort tour in other destinations. You are not stuck on a busall day. We use the small 26 seater buses to make the tours more personal. You are off of the bus a lot and walking around.... You could not get into the rain forest on your own on the south coast. Definitely recommend that anyone who has not been to Vallarta before goes on this trip.

The terrain we will be traveling over is very rough and sugged and the only way is to travel in a unimog . These trucks are used by the German army, have 30 gears, so they can travel over any terrain. Traveling in the back of these open trucks with you will be your guide, who will tell you all about surrounding areas through which you are passing and as you enter the rain forest they will be invaluable as they wil point out all the plant and animal life during your short walk. Traveling further north you will arrive at a small secluded beach where, whilst you are relaxing or taking a cool refreshing dip in the ocean, the staff will be preparing your bbq meal for you. An open bar is also included on the trucks and on the beach. It can be a bumpy ride (gives you an all over body massage!). 7 RHYTHMS OF THE NIGHT

Small tropical private cove. Former home of john Houston, director of night of the iguana. John Huston came to Vallarta when it was still only a fishing village. He fell in love with it and decided to film the night of the iguana here. Tired of the Hollywood scene and astonished by the beauty of the south coast he leased a property here from the local Indians- las Caletas. 16 acres of jungle land. He lived here from 1978 to 1996. He called it "his jungle hideaway". After his dead one of the local companies purchased the land for the venue for a very different night out rhythms of the night. Sail across the bay as the sun is setting to arrive at Caletas as its getting dark, no electricity here, and the cove is lit by torches and candles. Greeted by the sounds of the rainforest at night and a star studded sky. Seated on individual tables in a clearing in the rainforest and served a bbq meal with an open bar available here as well as on the boat. The setting is something they will never see anywhere else on their holiday and the only way to get there is on this tours. Treated to history and culture of Mexico through music and dance, starting at prehispanic times, through the revolution and seeing the influences some other music had on the country such as the mambo, cha cha cha and the merengue right up to the present day. Party atmosphere on the boat on the way home with time to dance.

21 SAN SEBASTIAN AIR EXPEDITION

This is a unique opportunity to venture to one of the most remote, undiscovered reaches of the sierra Madre mountain range by air. A short 15 minutes flight away by a modern 14 seater cessna caravan turbo prop will carry you far away from the thores of bustling tourist centres. This aircraft, unlike the majority of airplanes, is specially designed to permit maximum visibility for all passengers on route you will marvel from large picture windows at a cascading waterfall in the heart of the sierra Madre, see remote mountain villages locked away in time and mountains carpeted in dense tropical vegetation. To arrive in san Sebastian del ouster is to step back in time. Landing on the gravel air strip bordering the village, you will be met and transported village-style by an open-top truck. This beautiful, antiquated village surrounded by aromatic pine forests, dates back to 1605 and was made famous centuries ago by its plentiful silver mines. Land access to san Sebastian has always been rather difficult due to its height above sea level in the midst of a mountain valley. During the summer months there is virtually no access by road. As one of the oldest mining towns in Mexico, san Sebastian reached its glory in the 1700' during which time it was a highly prosperous colonial town. It now remains as a living museum to how villagers lived and worked in a remote mountain township. Today with only 600 inhabitants, scattered examples of its magnificient historical grandeur can be glimpsed in tumbling colonial architecture. Nowadays merging with a colourful village square, quaint cobblestone streets, passing mules and a sleepy way of life far removed from the rest of the world. Indeed the rare beauty and significance of particular areas of the village have deservedly been recognized by the placement of a protection order from UNESCO.
There will be a guided tour of the village followed by either breakfast or lunch at a 150 year old hacienda once a hideaway for the rich and famous, including Liz and Richard Burton, Omar Shariff and Natalie wood, to name but a few! This half day air expedition is not for the average tourist but for a special breed or traveller who seeks out the real Mexico. One of the last great air get-aways.
